CV and motivation letter writing workshop for international master students


On February 21st the FEWEB Office of Career Services hosted a “CV and motivation letter” workshop, in co-production with the VU International Office. The event was especially organized for VU international students of all faculties to help them take with the first steps onto the Dutch job market. The event started with an introduction by Alexandra Samarina (read her blog here), an international VU Alumna from the Graduate School of Economics and Business. I am Ling Sheng and a graduate of 2011 of the Master’s specialization in Financial Management of VU University Amsterdam. Around two years ago, I decided to apply for a Graduate School in the Netherlands. In the beginning, I was not familiar with the Dutch education system. Studying MSc in Finance at VU Amsterdam

VU Main Building by nightMy name is Dominik and I am currently in the Master of Science programme of Finance at VU University Amsterdam. There were several reasons why I started my master here in Amsterdam. But first things first, I was born in Germany and obtained my bachelor’s degree in Vienna (Austria) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The four main arguments why I decided to study in Amsterdam were the high educational level in the Netherlands, the duration of the master program(1 year), the study fees, which are really affordable compared to the UK, and last but not least the beautiful city of Amsterdam.
